So Many Winners!

I have been a bad blogger! I haven't announced the winners of the last 6 giveaways! (and there have been winners!) I also haven't thanked all my readers! Spread the word - there will be a large giveaway coming up sometime before Thanksgiving. I am not sure how I am going to do it yet, but I will be giving away a lot of books!

Speaking about giveaways - you must follow the directions in the rules in order to be entered - I do switch up the rules from time to time, sometimes asking for something specific in your comment and I ALWAYS ask for an email address - this must be in your comment, I just don't have time to look them up. If you fail to put the requirements in your comment, the entries will not count. I have had people not be entered lately because they did not put in requested info. . .

Teaser Tuesday: 9-22-2009

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

Soon there is nothing here at all but a pile of rubble and a startling, wide-open space where just moments ago a house still stood. It happened so fast that we are all momentarily stunned into silence. I try to picture what might come next, but instead what I see is the stark, inevitable truth of time; what I hear is the silence of all the moments that have ended. (p79, The Gift of an Ordinary Day by Katrina Kenison - ARC)

Teaser Tuesday is hosted at Should be Reading. Come on over and share your teaser, too!

If this sounds like a good book - I am having a giveaway that ends today!

The Gift of an Ordinary Day - Giveaway!

The Gift of an Ordinary Day: A Mother's Memoir
By Katrina Kenison

The Gift of an Ordinary Day is an intimate memoir of a family in transition--boys becoming teenagers, careers ending and new ones opening up, as well as an attempt to find a deeper sense of place, and a slower pace, in a small New England town. It is a story of midlife longings and discoveries, of lessons learned in the search for home and a new sense of purpose, and the bittersweet intensity of mothering teenagers--holding on, letting go.

Poised on the threshold between family life as she's always know it and her older son's departure for college, Kenison is surprised to find that the times she treasures most are the ordinary, unremarkable moments of everyday life, the very moments she once took for granted, or rushed right through without noticing at all.

The relationships, hopes, and dreams that Kenison illuminates will touch women's hearts, and her words will inspire mothers everywhere as they try to make peace with the inevitable changes in their lives. (book jacket)
