I have decided that Thursday's Threads is only going to be posted on the first Thursday of the month. I do not make much leeway in just a week - so if you have never done any type of needlework, you would probably not see any progress! So look for my next Thursday's Threads post next week! Happy Weekend!
Where I share my love of books with reviews, features, giveaways and memes. Family and needlepoint are thrown in from time to time.

Thursday's Threads

It's time once again to see if I have made any progress on the projects that I showed last week - that answer would be a huge NO - but, I didn't want to let this die, so I thought I would share some projects from the past that I have finished.
This was called Mystery in a Corner - I believe it is by Gay Ann Rogers. We were sent the instructions in pieces and had different options we could choose - so everybodies would come out unique.
Noah's Ark
Blue Bayou - there are others in this series that I hope to do someday!
What is everyone else working on?

I have decided that the only way that I am going to start working on some of my needlepoint projects again is to start blogging about them! The one on the top of the page is getting kind of stale and I would like to replace it with something new! So let me introduce you to those projects that have some interest to me right now.
My son really guilted me into this when he came and asked me where his Nemo was the other day - he meant this -

I'd like to know where Nemo is also - do you see him on the canvas? Do you see anything on the canvas? How to tell a 5 year old that I haven't even started!
Then I have this project called Anasazi Song by Carole Lake - which I started over a year ago. I just received the directions for another one like this called Anasazi Dream (I think). As you can see, I actually have some done on this one but I would like to finish it before I start on the "Dream".
That's what I am working on this week. If you have any projects you are working on - from beading to woodwork - leave a comment and or a link. I would love to get some inspiration!

It isn't much - but I actually started a new project this week! (Not that I didn't have plenty of UFO's in my stash that I could have worked on.) This is a small one - but it is a Mill Hill Beaded Kit, so I am sure when I get to the beads it will seem like it is much larger than it really is! I am not going to tell you what it is going to be, you will just get to watch it as it takes shape.
See you all next Thursday!

Since the name of my blog is "Books and Needlepoint" I have decided that it is time that I started posting about my other passion - needlepoint. This will be a weekly post in the hopes that it will jump start me into stitching again. It has been a few months since I have picked up a needle! (Except for the one I found on the kitchen floor last week. . .)
I am a self-taught stitcher - I learned in college back in the 80's while I was working in the craft department of a Ben Franklin store. I fell in love with cross-stitch. I would pick up anything and everything that had to do with needle, thread, and canvas. The more complicated the stitch - the better. Of course, I didn't know that I had crossed the line over to needlepoint - the speciality stitches to me where just more complicated cross stitch!
I have attended the National Counted Cross Stitch Show in Illinois, CATS(I think this stood for Creative Arts and Textiles Show) festivals in Iowa and Las Vegas and this year I am going to my very first ANG seminar in Milwaukee. I only joined ANG (American Needlepoint Guild) 2 years ago, or maybe it has been 3, and have loved every minute of it! I am also a member of Cyberpointers (ANG web group) and Cyberstitchers (EGA web group - Embroidery Guild of America).
I want to thank all of you who have commented on my various canvases that have been in my header. The one on top and seen throughout this post - Noah's Ark - took about 6-7 months to do . You can see some of the other details in the various pictures.
What I am going to try to do with this weekly feature - is show progress on anything that I am working on - that way it might force me to work on some of it! If there is anyone out there that does ANY kind of craft -from scrapbooking to quilting to knitting etc and would like to join me, please create a post and leave us a link below so we can all see what you are working on!
Happy Stitching!
