Readathon - Mid Event Survey

1. What are you reading right now?
Just finished Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia

2. How many books have you read so far?
2 complete - Glory in Death by J.D. Robb and Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia; 1 partial - Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvator on audio and another partial book of short stories - Exhalation by Ted Chiang -print

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
I think I am done - my eyes have had it. I will probably take a book to bed with me, but not sure what that will be

4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
First time ever that I have had no interruptions. I did take some breaks and walk to try to keep from getting sleepy. That seemed to help some.

5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
I think this is the furthest I have made it with pretty much being able to read straight through. Except for my short walks and taking breaks to eat with my family I have been reading. I am hoping that it got me out of my reading slump that I have been in since the shelter in place order here in Illinois. It would be nice to escape a little more often into a book.

Readathon - Hour 8

Finished my first book - Glory in Death by J.D. Robb. This is the second book of her In Death series This was a reread as I am looking to finally catch up on this series. I can't remember how far I got years ago when I was first reading them. I have also listened to about an hour of Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvator while walking 4000 steps. This is book 3 of the Raven Boys series. I have eaten more than I care to admit as it keeps me from getting sleepy! My favorite has probably been some BBQ Shoe String Potato Chips! I am going to listen to some more of that book and walk again. My goal is 12000 steps today, so that should get me a little further in the book! Happy Reading!

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon - Opening Post

Hi Readers!

Well, this is a readathon like no others. Usually, I have something else booked on Readathon day - kid's soccer game, concert, work - but in today's world, I have nothing to do today but read. You might think "Isn't that all you've been doing anyway?" And surprisingly - no. I have not been able to mentally get to a point to just sit and read - so I am really hoping I can lose my self in some books today.

So - opening survey questions -
I am reading from Northern Illinois. I don't know that I have a book that I am looking forward to reading. I had checked out a stack from the high school library that I work at before the stay at home order and I also went to the public library the day before they closed and got a stack, so I am well stocked. Snacks - I think pretzels and chip dip. . . or maybe some cupcakes if I take a break and make some! I can't remember how many years I have participated in the readathon, but it is at least 10!
