The book on the top of the stack next to me is American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld -
Approaching each other, him from the gym, me from the library - this was when I walked down the aisle and he was waiting, this was when we made love, it was every anniversary, every reunion in an airport or train station, every reconciliation after a quarrel.

The closest book to me is Desire Unchained by Larissa Ione - I just received this from Hachette Books this week. After reading these sentences on page 56 it really has me intrigued!

The closest book to me is Serial Killers: Up Close and Personal by Christopher Berry-Dee (I just received this in the mail yesterday from Mini-Book Expo so check back on Monday for a full description!)

Why, when he had admitted to all of the other Rochester murders, did Shawcross deny murdering Kimberley Logan? The Rochester police had never released the gruesome details of the Logan murder to the media, so the chances of a copycat crime being committed with an identical M.O. at the same time in the same city, were millions-to-one against.

He held a magazine closer to the dome light and read: "Authorities in West Virginia are investigating reports of unidentified lights in the sky, which correspond with the claims of a Braxton County woman that a 'monster' attacked her German shepherd and ate it. 'It was horrible,' said Nanci Kalanta.

The one laying next today - and has been for the better part of the last two days - is Scream for Me by Karen Rose - The child had no one. So you have to handle it this time, Alex. Although in the quiet of her mind she knew she hadn't handled it well so far.
