What a beautiful Christmas story I just read? JOURNEY TO CHRISTMAS Creek is a great book to read to your children or grandchildren or to just read for yourself. This story came from the author, Melinda Elmore's husband, Tommy, who passed away unexpectedly on October 4, one month ago today. He would tell this story to his two children every Christmas. DWB PUBLISHING has donated the proceeds to go to Melinda and her children, since she has bills to pay and no insurance to help with the final expenses.
The story is about two children, Spotted Buffalo and Gentle Tears, who in the early 1800's travel with their family and tribe to find a special place to live since their sacred home land in Moon Valley has given out of food to feed the village. They must travel until they find the perfect spot to settle. What the two brave children do to help their family will astound you. Spotted Buffalo, the son, has decided to take off in the middle of the night to try to continue, as he realizes the importance of finding the right spot. He wants to prove himself a man. The boy prays to the Great Spirit for help and learns that his little sister, Gentle Tears, has caught him and threatens to tell if he doesn't take her with him. Together they leave and travel until they find the most perfect place ever. It has fresh water from a nearby waterfall and there are a lot of buffalo around the area. All of a sudden, Spotted Buffalo falls and breaks his leg. It's a bad break and he pleads with his sister to go back and find the tribe without him.
After some danger, she finds Red Sun and leads him back to the falls.
Christmas Creek is a special place filled with miracles and the children grow and mature quickly from their journey to help others.
JOURNEY TO CHRISTMAS CREEK is an amazing read for everyone and what a great book to give as a Christmas present and you will be helping a family in need.

Congrats on the new grandbaby! When my little girl had her baby almost nine years ago, it was truly wonderful and emotional. She had a boy.

Hope you enjoy your week, and the weeks ahead.

I just bought Out of Oz this past week too, that's one of my favorite series and I'm very glad to see a new book, though also sad because it's the last one. I plan to reread the entire series before reading that one!
