This is my first time participating in this weekly meme hosted by Rebecca at Just One More Page.
Todays topic is New Authors. What is your policy when it comes to new authors? Do you feel comfortable purchasing a book or do you prefer to borrow new authors from the library? How often do you try out a new author?
I have been reading a lot of new authors this year though - 24 so far. I have been getting a lot of ARC's and most of them are by new-to-me authors. I even joined the New Author Challenge over at Literary Escapism. I already have a couple of new favorites (Karen Rose, Ted Dekker, Lisa Dale, Cormac McCarthy) and I am sure that I will discover many more this year!
How many new authors have you read this year - and how did you like them/find them?

This was my first Musing Monday too...I've very much enjoyed it.
And now I am wondering which authors books you always keep?
And we seem to have a similar approach to trying books.
Joining the New Author Challenge has had me try 27 new authors.
Your answer sounds similar to mine.
If the cover blurb sounds good, why shouldn't I buy the book? I admit I usually try to find the time to read the first few pages when I haven't heard a thing about the author, but otherwise I'm all set to get the book.
Welcome to MM! Hope to see you again next week :)
I love discovering new authors!
I've read 15 new authors and liked pretty much all of them!!!
Jenners - I keep the ones that I have read for years and years - Stephen King, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, John Saul - and then more recent ones - Nora Roberts (J.D.Robb), Anne Perry, Harlan Coben - and then really new ones - Robert Liparulo, Ted Dekker, Karen Rose
Nise' and Staci - congrats on the new authors - where do you find new authors at?
Hi Kathrin - thanks for coming to visit!
Rebecca - I hope to be back -so put on the coffee!
I have no problems buying a new authors book and have found some great ones out there. If you don't mind I think I will pass this idea into my blog and get more readers ideas out there.
