Blue Like Play Dough
The Shape of Motherhood in the Grip of God
By Tricia Goyer
Publisher: Multnomah
I received this book as part of a blog tour taking place later this month - look for a giveaway at that time also!
About the book: The everyday push and pull of motherhood often leaves Tricia Goyer feeling, well, smooshed. Can you relate? In Blue Like Play Dough, Tricia shares her unlikely journey from rebellious, pregnant teen to busy wife and mom with big dreams of her own.
Sure, her life is messy and beset by doubts. But God keeps showing up in the most unlikely places - in a bowl of carrot soup, the umpteenth reading of Goodnight Moon, a woe-is-me teen drama, or play dough in the hands of a child.
As her story unfolds, Tricia realizes that God has more in store for her than she ever imagined. Much More. But only if she lets him mold her life for good.
In Tricia's transparent account, you'll find laughter, understanding, and inspiration for your own story. And in the midst of your daily demands, you'll discover the hands of God at work. . .and know he has something beautiful in mind. (from the back cover)
About the author: Tricia Goyer is the author of eighteen books of fiction and nonfiction, including Generation NeXt parenting and the Gold Medallion finalist Life Interrupted. Goyer writes for publications such as Today's Christian Woman and Focus on the Family, speaks to women's groups nationwide, and has been a presenter at the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) national convention. She and her husband, John, live with their family in Montana. (from the back cover)

Looks like an interesting read.
I should look for this book, it sounds very good and I could use some inspiration right now in my life as a mom!
This sounds like a book I'd enjoy and definitely need!!!

I could always use a little more laughter, understanding, and inspiration in my life ~ this sounds like a wonderful read.
I can so relate to feeling smooshed as a mom! Sometimes my ears feel plugged, too - I could use some godly inspiration!
I've never heard of carrot soup. But it sounds good.
I can so relate to feeling smooshed, just not anymore. Would love to read this book!
This sounds great, I would love to read this. :)
my wife read it and loved it. Looking for a copy to give to a friend who would find its content encouraging.
Oh how I can relate...let me tell you being a *teen* mom isn't easy. I had my son at 18...thought I had to give up going to law school at the time and going out with friends was traumatic. But, I got cancer at the age of 23 and my little boy (who's been all that I've lived for) was sent to me for a reason...after the first bought of cancer, chemo, and radiation, I couldn't have children.
So, GOD is everywhere and he does do everything for a reason. My son is the light of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Before now, I hadn't got to share this story. It's now out and I'd love to read this book.
Did I mention I LOVE the smell of Play Dough? : ) I LOVE YOU DEVIN!

This book sounds like a great reminder to all of us, especially mothers, that God is always there to show us the way.
It sounds uplifting. I would love to read this book.
Sounds like a great book for a mom like me.

As a harried mom of 2 teens and a young adult this book sounds like it has a message I need to read. It's so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of being a mom and feeling we are in it alone that we forget that He is always there with us, even through the mucky stuff! I would love to read this book.
This book sounds like it would provide a moment of quiet inspiration in my otherwise crazy world.
I like that it uses laughter to make it's point!

This looks fabulous! As a SAHM to 2 children I completely understand that feeling of being "squished"~
I would like to read this! I think a lot of busy moms could use this reminder. I know that I don't make space to hear His message and I would be a better mom and a better person if I stopped to listen.
